Ashley and Andrew are an incredibly sweet couple.

When Ashley wrote about her wedding plans and desires for photo coverage I was instantly drawn to her. She seemed so calm for a woman who was getting married in just a few weeks and had yet to find someone to document it. I quickly realized it was just a natural part of her disposition, to be a calming soul, and one who couldn’t think of anything more important or exciting than finally marrying her best friend. Sure, some good photos commemorating the occasion would be nice, but she wasn’t going to stress about it. That’s my kind of bride! One who’s laid-back, confident and grants me full artistic vision to document the day from a photojournalistic perspective.

I also loved that Ashley and Andrew took a similar approach to wedding planning as did Seth and I. Specifically, concentrating their efforts on a simple and intimate celebration of love, beginning with a beautiful outdoor ceremony and ending with a delicious meal, surrounded by immediate family members and a few close friends.

Although we experienced a drought ┬áin the months before their wedding, Mother Nature decided to give the earth a drink those last few days leading up to their ceremony. Yet, as it was intended to be, the rain clouds pushed on and gave way to a beautiful sunset just in time for Ashley to walk down the aisle. The light was amazing, with soft shades of pink, orange and yellow. They couldn’t have planned it better.

Thank you again, to Ashley and Andrew for putting your trust in me to document your “I Do’s”. It was an honor to be a witness to your love and commitment to each other. I wish you many years of happily wedded bliss!

**Special note: Being that their guest count was small (two dozen people) and they were married on a Sunday evening, Ashley and Andrew only booked me for two hours. I had just enough time to document Ashley putting on her gown, all of the ceremony and portraits and the beginning of their reception dinner. Of course I would’ve come earlier and stayed later, but that’s all they wanted. That said, I especially enjoy the intimacy of small weddings, so please don’t hesitate to contact me if you’re getting married on a weekday or Sunday and want a smaller photo package to pair with your event. I’m happy to meet with you and customize something to your needs!**
