Well, hello! Thanks for clicking around my site and checking things out!
ABOUT ME: I’m fun, expressive, easily distracted, passionate, giving, creative and laid-back. I’m currently in love with all things (mid-century) modern, urban and industrial. I enjoy eating local foods, being in the company of good friends, sipping tasty beverages and spending time with family– though not necessarily in that order.
MY STYLE: Photography is my way of preserving the world around me and I choose to do so from a fresh, honest and imaginative perspective. Others have described my work as authentic, real, raw, natural, unscripted, timeless, pure, beautiful, truthful, creative and genuine.
MY APPROACH: I view life as series of fleeting moments. From the time I became interested in photography I’ve used my camera as a journalistic tool. I’m drawn to documentary imagery for it’s raw beauty and ability to evoke emotion, and I apply that passion to much of my work. I approach each session and commission with a respect for authenticity and work the scene much like a photojournalist, finding unique perspectives to tell the stories of those who hire me.
MY EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- - BJ with emphasis in Photojournalism, University of Missouri, 2003
- - June 2004 – Dec 2004, staff photographer intern, St. Joseph News Press
- - Published in the Columbia Missourian, St. Joseph News Press, Inside Columbia and Columbia Home, in addition to various culinary trade magazines.
