Natalia and David didn’t have any specific requests for their engagement photos so we began with a beverage at a familiar coffee shop and ended with a delicious sushi dinner. In between beverages and bites to eat we wandered the sidewalks of downtown and stopped in Slackers for a video game purchase. Interesting fact: Natalia and David met online via their mutual interest in World of Warcraft, a hugely popular multiplayer online roleplaying game. I don’t know anything about the game, but I do know the symbols/art on their shirts have something to do with it.

I had a wonderful time learning more about these two and capturing their chemistry together. I look forward to their Sunday brunch winery wedding in June. It’ll be here before we know it!

Spencer and Janelle live in St. Louis but they wanted to do their engagement session in Columbia, around Mizzou, where their relationship began. I proposed meeting up somewhere for a tasty beverage before starting the session (hey, not gonna lie, sometimes a cocktail helps clients get into the mood!) and Janelle suggested The Heidelburg since that’s where they met. Of course, we couldn’t leave the ‘Berg without me snapping a few photos of them looking all cute and cozy in their booth. Afterwards, we wandered over to campus for some Mizzou-inspired imagery. We covered the popular spots such as the columns and Jesse Hall, Memorial Union and the big bronze tiger on Rollins St. We also spent a little time inside the MU Student Center.

Of course, the weather this time of year is always unpredictable. We had just experienced two back-to-back snow storms and snow was still on the ground in the days leading up to our session. Not to worry, though, as I was looking forward to some snow photos, but then the rain came. It came hard–and there went the snow. I wasn’t even sure if we’d be able to take any photos outside. It poured all morning. Then, a miracle happened. The rain stopped just in time for our session, only to start back up again minutes after we snapped the last photos. It couldn’t have been timed any better!

Now, without further adieu, I present Spencer and Janelle! Can’t wait for their September wedding at Alpine Park and Gardens! Enjoy!
